Whats the Story

What's the story?

Adrian Lunney, Make It In Plastics Director

In truth, and over the coming weeks, months and years, we will discover that there are a great many stories to tell here.

I know because business and stories have been my profession all my working life.  The business story topic fascinates me. I trained as a journalist in my twenties to pursue it and I went to film school in my thirties to pursue it further.

The essence of it is this.

If you are a plastics processor - in other words if you manufacture plastic products from polymeric materials - thermoformer, injection moulder, film manufacturer, blow moulder, composites moulder - Make It In Plastics site is your site - and your story.

Anyone who has a vision and the determination to stick to it, to make a profit and keep growing - these companies have my undying admiration -  and my professional services when they need them.

And over the past thirty years I've gotten pretty good at relating this approach - in news, features, videos, magazines; documentaries, publications.

Commercially I guess I've approached my work much like a trade moulder.  "You have a good idea/product/service? Bring it to me and I'll help it take form."

And now this  - Make It In Plastics. Well, it's different. From trade moulding it's more like my proprietary line, my IP, my own brand.

There plenty of good stuff out there on plastics technology - equipment, materials, techniques and the suppliers of the same.

Make It In Plastics is not about that.  As the name suggests this site is about the people who use that technology – and their commercial success.

Make It In Plastics about where good manufacturing and commercial ideas come from in plastics – and how to make them work in the marketplace.

It's a place to share manufacturing experiences, needs, preferences, challenges and achievements, and by doing so solving problems and make connections  - with customers, business partners, suppliers and with the world at large.

If you are a plastics processor I really hope that we can make you feel at home - bring out your successes and experiences - and do you some good.

Joining us is free of charge for this first MIIP membership intake - and very simple.  Please click here for those details

We hope to read your story here soon!

All the best for now
